Round of 16 Teams : Teams Qualified for FIFA 2018 Knockout Stage

FIFA 2018 Football World Cup is half way with all group stage matches over and now we move into the Round of 16 State i.e, the Knockout stage of the tournament.

I am sure you all are eager to know who are the 16 teams that have made it to the knockout stage of FIFA 2018 Football World Cup and how they managed to reach there.

The tournament has already seen some upsets – the biggest being Germany – the defending champions crashing out of the tournament in the group stage itself.

Round of 16 Teams : Teams Qualified for FIFA 2018 Knockout Stage

Uruguay : Uruguay qualified for the Round of 16 Knockout stage of the tournament after finishing on top in Group A winning all their three group stage matches.

Russia : Host nation Russia reached the Round of 16 Knockout stage finishing second in the Group A defeating Saudi Arabia and Egypt and suffering a defeat at hands of Uruguay.

Spain : FIFA 2010 champions, Spain qualified for the Round of 16 Knockout stage of the tournament after finishing on top in Group B defeating Iran and managing a draw against Portugal and Morocco. They were not at their best.

Portugal : Portugal reached the Round of 16 Knockout stage finishing second in the Group B defeating Morocco and achieving draws against Spain and Iran.

France : France qualified for the Round of 16 Knockout stage of the tournament after finishing on top in Group C defeating Australia and Peru and managing a draw against Denmark.

Denmark : Denmark reached the Round of 16 Knockout stage finishing second in the Group C defeating Peru and managing draws against Australia and France.

Croatia : Croatia qualified for the Round of 16 Knockout stage of the tournament after finishing on top in Group D winning all their three group stage matches defeating Argentina, Nigeria and Iceland. They played brilliantly in the group stage of the tournament.

Argentina : Argentina somehow managed to reached the Round of 16 Knockout stage finishing second in the Group D defeating Nigeria and managing a draw against Iceland. They also suffered a humiliating 3 – 0 defeat at hands of Croatia. The group stage was a nightmare for Lionel Messi and his team.

Brazil : Brazil qualified for the Round of 16 Knockout stage of the tournament after finishing on top in Group E defeating Costa Rica and Serbia and managing draw against Switzerland.

Switzerland : Switzerland reached the Round of 16 Knockout stage finishing second in the Group E after defeating Serbia and managing draws against Brazil and Costa Rica.

Sweden : Sweden qualified for the Round of 16 Knockout stage of the tournament after finishing on top in Group F defeating South Korea and Mexico and suffered a defeat at hands of Germany.

Mexico : Mexico reached the Round of 16 Knockout stage finishing second in the Group F defeating Germany and South Korea and defeat against Sweden.

Belgium : Belgium qualified for the Round of 16 Knockout stage of the tournament after finishing on top in Group G winning all their three group stage matches defeating England, Tunisia and Panama. They played really well in the group stage of the tournament.

England : England reached the Round of 16 Knockout stage finishing second in the Group G defeating Tunisia and Panama and suffering a defeated at hands of Belgium.

Colombia : Colombia qualified for the Round of 16 Knockout stage of the tournament after finishing on top in Group H defeating Poland and Senegal and suffering a defeat at hands of Japan.

Japan : Japan reached the Round of 16 Knockout stage finishing second in the Group H after a group stage tie brake with Senegal on basis of fair play. They had managed to defeat Colombia, achieved a draw against Senegal and were defeated by Poland.
